Woman dies after head-on collision in Norwich

A woman died after her car collided head-on with a heavy-duty wrecker in Norwich on Thursday morning, police said.

Police were called to the area of 704 West Thames St. around 8:17 a.m. for a report of a serious motor vehicle collision. When they got there, they saw a car hit a heavy-duty wrecker head-on, according to police.

The woman, who has not been identified, was sent to Backus Hospital and died, police said.

Norwich police and the Norwich Fatal Accident Reconstruction Team are investigating the crash.
