Vehicle flees traffic stop, strikes West Hartford police cruiser; occupants arrested
A vehicle fled a traffic stop and struck a police cruiser in West Hartford on Friday, according to police.
West Hartford police said the vehicle eventually came to a stop, and the occupants fled the scene. They were later taken into custody.
Police said the vehicle was stopped in the area of Prospect Avenue near McDonald’s. NBC Connecticut saw a white Hummer with damaged tires being loaded onto a tow truck.
NBC Connecticut also saw police using a K-9 to search the area after the arrests.
A West Hartford police spokesperson told NBC Connecticut that the cruiser sustained moderate damage, based on information they had received, but said they had not yet seen the cruiser.
