Essex Steam Train and Riverboat just announced that tickets for its North Pole Express go on sale in early August, and they tend to sell out very fast.
Half- and full-premium-class cars, full- and four-seat first-class cars, and quarter-, full-, and four-seat coach-class cars are available beginning at 9 a.m. on Aug. 3 at essexsteamtrain.com. All remaining first-class and coach tickets can be purchased at 9 a.m. on Aug. 5 at the same website.
Tickets can only be purchased online on a first-come, first-served basis — there are no phone or walk-up sales.
The event runs on certain dates between Nov. 20 and Dec. 23. The trips are 90 minutes long and include festive sing-alongs, hot chocolate and sugar cookies, and a visit with Santa and Mrs. Claus. Children are invited to wear their favorite pajamas.
If you want to ride on a Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday, tickets will be $60 per coach seat and $95 per first-class seat.
If you’d like to go on a Friday, Saturday, or Sunday, or on Tues., Dec. 22, or Wed., Dec. 23, tickets will be $70 per coach seat and $105 per first-class seat.
Premium first-class tickets go for $120, no matter the day.
There are no refunds, exchanges, or credits for tickets.
