Three men walked into a Kay Jewelers at 6 p.m. on Friday, smashed jewelry cases, and stole “numerous jewelry items,” police said.
The men were wearing masks and all black clothing and used a hammer to smash the cases, according to police.
Officers were called to the Kay Jewelers at 1055 Silas Deane Highway for a report of an active larceny around 6 p.m. on Friday.
The surveillance video showed the men walking through the unlocked front door, smashing the cases, and running out of the store and into the parking lot. Police said they fled in a black Hyundai Elantra with dark-tinted windows.
There was no license plate on the vehicle they fled in, police said.
There did not appear to be any employees in the store while the men were smashing the glass panels. However, at the end of the surveillance video, a person appears to walk toward the front door after the suspects fled.
The store is open until 7 p.m. on Fridays, according to its website.
No injuries were reported, and there were no threats of violence, according to police.
The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
