Rain from the morning hours will move out quickly, giving way to improving conditions later today.

As the wet weather exits, some breaks of sunshine are expected to develop. Temperatures will warm up, and it will feel muggy for much of the afternoon, with several hours of humid conditions in place.

There is also the chance for a pop-up thunderstorm later today, especially across northeastern Connecticut.

Clouds build back in tonight, with mostly cloudy skies expected to linger into Friday. A few showers are possible Friday morning, mainly across southern Connecticut, before conditions gradually begin to improve.

Clearing will continue slowly into Saturday night.

By Sunday, brighter weather returns with mostly sunny skies and a much more pleasant finish to the weekend.
