Some schools dismissing early due to extreme heat
Some schools are dismissing early because of the heat on Tuesday.
Temperatures are expected to reach the upper 90s inland today.
Bristol schools are dismissing early and canceling PM Pre-K. AM Pre-K dismissed at 10:55 a.m. Full-day Pre-K will dismiss at 1:15 p.m. K-5 schools are also dismissing at 1:15 p.m. Middle schools and K-8 schools are dismissing at 12:41 p.m. Bristol Arts and Innovation Magnet School is dismissing at 12:46 p.m., and the high schools are dismissing at 12:06 p.m.
Trumbull also announced early dismissal for all of its schools due to a lack of parts for air conditioning units.
New Britain High School will also dismiss early because the air conditioning is not working. The school will dismiss at 12:15 p.m. All other New Britain schools will dismiss at their regular time.
Bridgeport Public Schools also announced that it will operate on an early dismissal schedule and that after-school activities will be canceled due to the extreme heat, unless otherwise communicated. The district said to check with your child’s school for specific dismissal times.
