Officers rescue 2 people from water near pier in New London
Police officers are being credited with rescuing two people who were in the water near a pier in New London early Sunday morning.
New London police officers were patrolling the downtown area around 1:40 a.m. when they learned that two people were in the water near the pier at the end of the Bank Street Connector.
The officers immediately responded and saw two people in the water.
According to police, the officers pulled a man and a woman from the water. Neither person was conscious or alert at the time they were removed from the water.
Both the man and the woman were transported to the hospital for emergency medical treatment. Police said both remain hospitalized and are under medical care.
The incident remains under investigation.
