North Haven High School and Middle School were placed on lockdown on Tuesday afternoon as police investigated a “threat of violence” toward the high school, police said.
Police later determined the treat was not credible and shifted away from lockdown, according to a Facebook post from the North Haven Police Department.
The Board of Education decided to dismiss both the high school and the middle school early. Families should follow the Board of Education’s instructions for details, police said.
Police said they had a heavy presence at the school while they investigated, and people arriving at the school were being staged at a nearby location.
“It is important to note there has been NO actual violence,” police wrote in an earlier Facebook post.
