
A moped rider has died after a hit-and-run in Waterbury on Saturday morning.
Officers responded to the intersection of Meriden Road and Southmayd Road around 2 a.m. for a report of a serious hit-and-run accident involving a moped.
Once in the area, police said a man with severe injuries was found on the ground and a moped was down in the road.
The man, later identified by police as 27-year-old Luis Santana, of Waterbury, was determined to be the driver of the moped.
He was transported to the hospital where he later died.
Police did not release any details about the vehicle involved in the hit-and-run.
