
A man’s death is being called suspicious by authorities in New Hampshire, with an investigation now underway into the circumstances of the incident.
Police in Haverhill, New Hampshire, responded shortly after 1 a.m. Monday to an apartment on Nelson Street, where they found a man’s body inside, according to a news release from the New Hampshire Attorney General’s Office.
The death prompted an investigation by the AG’s office as well as members of the New Hampshire State Police Major Crime Unit.
In an update on Tuesday, the attorney general’s office said the person who was found dead has been identified as Demetrius White, 22, of Springfield, Massachusetts. An autopsy is being conducted Tuesday by the chief medical examiner’s office.
Late Monday night, the attorney general’s office said that Jayden McClanahan, 21, of Hartford, Connecticut, was arrested on burglary charges related to the investigation. He was held on preventative detention and was scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday afternoon.
The circumstances surrounding the incident remain under investigation.
