What to Know

  • The U.S. Embassy in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, was struck by drones as Iran retaliates with strikes across the Middle East. 
  •  U.S. ordered nonemergency personnel in Iraq, Bahrain, Jordan, Kuwait and Qatar to leave.
  • President Donald Trump has said wars can be fought “forever” with America’s stock of munitions, after Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth vowed the conflict would not be “endless” and the U.S. goal is not regime change. 
  • Iran’s Red Crescent said more than 550 people were killed in the strikes. Six U.S. service members died in action as Iran fired back.
