Bristol native, NBA starter and two-time UConn men’s basketball national champion Donovan Clingan will soon have another title.

Husband.

Clingan and fiancee Madeleine Ross announced their engagement on Instagram in a post on Tuesday.

“Forever love,” the post read, with photos of the couple’s engagement on a scenic beach, where Clingan dropped to one knee and proposed.

Former UConn teammates Hassan Diarra, Andrew Hurley and Liam McNeeley were among those who commented on the post.

“He even creased his kicks,” McNeeley wrote. “That’s real love. Congrats!”

Trail Blazers teammate Deni Avdija, who was an All-Star for the first time this year, also reacted with a meme of a woman crying with joy.

It’s been a good year for Clingan on the court as well, as the 22-year-old is averaging 11.9 points and 11.5 rebounds per game while shooting 53.4 percent from the field. He’s also started all 54 games he’s appeared in this season.
