The former police chief of the East Lyme Police Department, Michael Finkelstein, was arrested again, according to the current chief, Kevin Glenn.
Officers were called to a home on Marion Drive in East Lyme for a report of a domestic dispute at 8:10 a.m. on Friday, Glenn said.
They spoke with family members at the home and arrested 55-year-old Finkelstein and charged him with disorderly conduct, according to Glenn.
He was held on bond and transported to New London Superior Court for his arraignment at 10:30 a.m. on Friday.
Finkelstein was arrested in June 2024 after a different domestic incident at his home in East Lyme. After that, an independent investigation was launched that found he destroyed evidence, had an affair with one of his officers, and violated department policies.
He formally retired shortly after the investigation. A few months later, multiple charges filed against him were dropped.
