An ex-substitute teacher who faces charges in Hamden on sexual assault now faces similar charges in Branford.
Branford police announced that 24-year-old Jack Gill was under investigation for an incident that happened at Mary T. Murphy Elementary School on Jan. 20.
The incident reportedly happened while Gill was working as an outsourced substitute teacher at the time. Branford police said that during their investigation, they learned that Gill had been accused of similar conduct in Hamden.
Hamden arrested and charged Gill on March 27, with fourth-degree and illegal sexual contact with a victim under the age of 16.
Branford police issued an arrest warrant for Gill on Thursday, charging him with fourth-degree sexual assault and risk of injury to a minor. He was taken into custody on Friday.
Gill was released on a bond of $75,000 and set to appear in New Haven Superior Court on April 14.
