
Nine dogs were rescued by firefighters after a fire broke out at a New Britain home on Thursday, firefighters said.
The New Britain Fire Department responded to a reported fire at a two-story home on Lorraine Street at 11:24 a.m. When they arrived, they found that all of the people inside had safely evacuated, according to firefighters.
They said they found the fire in a second-floor bedroom, quickly brought it under control, and safely removed nine dogs from the home.
No occupants, firefighters, or animals were injured, firefighters said.
The fire marshal is investigating the cause of the fire.
