
Two small earthquakes rattled eastern Connecticut on Sunday morning.
The two quakes were in quick succession, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The first, a 2.1 magnitude, happened at 8:21 a.m. and the second, a 1.9 magnitude, happened at 8:26 a.m.
Both earthquakes were centered near Moodus.
State police said the received several calls about a loud noise in the area.
Moodus has a long history of seismic activity.
