The City of Norwalk Fire Department admitted a woman to the hospital after she was found in the Norwalk River Sunday morning.
Officials say they responded to reports that someone was floating in the river where they made contact with the caller who said the person was floating with the current.
They say they were able to get a visual before putting on cold water suits and entering the water to help maneuver the victim toward the shore.
According to officials, they were able to get the woman into a stokes basket, carried into a stretcher and transferred to the hospital.
There is no further information on her condition.
