
A 4-year-old boy died after falling from a 10th-floor apartment window in Stamford on Sunday evening, Stamford police said.
A Stamford Police Department patrol supervisor was flagged down by a group of women on Prospect Street around 7:21 p.m. The women reported that a child had fallen from an apartment window, according to police.
Officers responded along with Stamford Fire Rescue and EMS personnel, police said.
When they arrived, they determined that the 4-year-old boy had fallen through the window screen of a 10th-floor apartment. He was pronounced dead at the scene, according to police.
The investigation remains active and ongoing. Police said there is no indication of foul play.
The Stamford Police Department said it is coordinating with the city’s Behavioral Health Unit to provide grief support services to the child’s family.
“On behalf of the City of Stamford, the Stamford Police Department extends its deepest condolences to the child’s family during this difficult time,” the department said in a Facebook post.
