
Two firefighters were taken to the hospital after being injured while battling a house fire in Waterbury on Sunday morning.
Firefighters were called to a home on South View Street around 6:30 a.m. A caller reported a fire in the roof and third floor of the home, fire officials said.
Crews searched the home and did not find anyone inside. The fire was knocked down shortly after.
According to fire officials, two firefighters were transported to the hospital. Their injuries were described as non-life threatening.
The American Red Cross is assisting one adult and three children who were displaced.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
