2 firefighters injured after overnight Groton apartment fire
Two firefighters have minor injuries after an overnight fire in an apartment on Ledgewood Road Sunday.
Emergency officials say personnel arrived to the fire around 3 a.m. after reports were made of a fire showing from The Ledges Apartments.
According to officials, the fire was escalated to a third alarm and by 3:22 a.m. Multiple floors were on fire with heavy fire in the attic.
Aside from the two firefighters, no additional injuries were reported.
Mutual aid was dispatched from more than a dozen departments to cover the town and scene.
