Firefighters responded to Burr’s Marina and saw two boats on fire early Thursday morning.
Fire Chief Vernon Skau said when the Battalion Fire Chief arrived he saw two boats on fire at the same time.
According to Fire Chief Skau, they had a standard dock line that they normally stretch, but the issue was one of the stern lines burned on one of the boats and the boat drifted farther than they could reach. As a result, they activated the New London Marine Group, and they brought their boats over and they were able to manage the situation with their vessels.
The fire is under investigation under New London police and the Fire Investitive Deep, as well as DEEP.
Fire Chief Skau mentioned that this was the same crew that battled the fire on Colman Street Wednesday night and he was proud of the team.
