Kane and Jude Bellingham are both two goals behind Mbappé and Messi, giving them an outside chance, as well.
The Three Lions are seeking their best World Cup finish since they won it all in 1966, while Les Bleus aim for a third straight top-3 result after winning in 2018 and placing second in 2022.
