An 18-year-old Norwich woman was killed in a single-vehicle crash on the Montville Connector on-ramp to Interstate 395 North in Waterford on Thursday night, Connecticut State Police said.
The crash happened around 5:24 p.m. about three-tenths of a mile onto the ramp, according to state police.
State police said a 2006 Lexus ES 330, driven by 18-year-old Leilani Robinson, was traveling northbound when it went off the left side of the roadway and into the grassy center median. Robinson then re-entered the roadway, crossed to the right shoulder, left the roadway again, and struck a tree in the woods.
Robinson was unresponsive when first responders arrived and was pronounced dead at the scene, state police said. She died just three days before her 19th birthday.
The crash remains under investigation. Anyone who witnessed it, has information about it, or has video is asked to contact Trooper Christopher Brett at 860-848-6500, extension 5.
