
One person has died in a crash in New Haven.
According to state police, a trooper attempted to stop a vehicle but the driver took off.
The trooper did not pursue the driver, state police said.
A short time later, the trooper got off the highway and found the vehicle had crashed into a pickup truck on Ella Grasso Boulevard between Truman Street and Washington Avenue.
The driver of the fleeing vehicle was killed, police said. A passenger in the car was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The driver of the pickup also sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to the hospital.
Ella Grasso Boulevard was closed, and New Haven police said drivers in the area should expect delays.
