Wilby High School and North End Middle School in Waterbury have since reopened after they were evacuated Tuesday morning due to a possible bomb threat, according to police.

The schools contacted police around 11 a.m. about the threat, and police investigated and reported no suspicious activity at 2 p.m.

Both buildings were safely evacuated, police said. The schools were locked down, and police conducted a sweep of the facilities.

The investigation is still active. Anyone with information is asked to call the Waterbury Police Detective Bureau at (203) 574-6941 or the anonymous Crime Stoppers tip line at (203) 755-1234.
