Mikaela Shiffrin is familiar with the IOC, and now she might be hearing from the FCC.
The American alpine skiing legend joined the “TODAY” show Thursday morning following her gold medal win in the women’s slalom at the Milan Cortina Olympics. During her interview, Shiffrin was recalling how she was thinking about her dad before her gold medal run when she let a couple of expletives slip on live television.
“I don’t know, I just took a moment and said … f—— …” Shiffrin said.
The 30-year-old Colorado native immediately realized she’d dropped an F-bomb on live TV.
However, her response? Another swear.
“S—,” she said before covering up her mouth.

Hosts Hoda Kotb, Craig Melvin and Carson Daly laughed off the snafu and tried to assure Shiffrin that “it was OK.”
“We’ll pay the fine,” Kotb said. “Don’t worry about it.”
Kotb, who retired from the “TODAY” show last year, returned as a co-anchor stand-in for Savannah Guthrie, who has been absent from the show since her mother Nancy Guthrie was abducted from her Arizona home earlier this month.
Shiffrin was understandably excited after her latest Olympic triumph. Her gold in slalom snapped an eight-year drought at the Olympics, where she had not medaled in her last eight events between the 2022 and 2026 Winter Games.
Now, Shiffrin will return to the U.S. with her third career gold medal and fourth Olympic medal overall.
