UConn fans had a lot to say after both the men’s and women’s basketball teams were able to make it to the Final Four.
“Un-bleeping believable is what it was,” said one fan.
It was a euphoric scene as UConn fans went wild at Elicit Brewery in Manchester as the men’s basketball team made their way to the Final Four taking down Duke after Braylon Mullins made a last second three-point shot. That heave bringing back memories for fans.
“My first thought, no joke, as a UConn fan, was like Kemba Walker! We just like have those moments,” Jessica Slater of South Windsor said.
Moments that were at times tense with the team down by fifteen at halftime, pleasing a brave Duke fan in a sea of Husky fandom. But fans say, they saw the heart of a former champion in the team with their comeback.
“It’s about resiliency. I mean we’re coming back. Doesn’t matter how much we’re down, we’re coming back,” Peter Busa of West Hartford said.
And fans also didn’t forget the dominant run the UConn women’s basketball team has had so far, also making it to the Final Four with a less stressful win over Notre Dame. They say both teams making it this far is an incredible achievement.
“This is Connecticut basketball. We are the basketball capital of the world!” Slater said.
