Emergency crews are working to clean up about 40 gallons of diesel fuel in West Haven after it spilled from a tractor-trailer that rolled over in a crash on Tuesday, according to police.
It happened in the area of Saw Mill Road and Greta Street. The tractor-trailer was carrying heavy equipment, the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) said.
The West Haven Fire Department Center District has created a barrier to contain the spill and prevent it from entering nearby storm sewer drains, police said. DEEP said the spill hadn’t spilled into any drains and appeared to be contained to the roadway.
No injuries were reported, according to police.
It was not immediately clear what caused the crash.
