The fire department was dispatched to I-84 Eastbound between Exits 32 and 33 for a tractor-trailer fire around 12:55 a.m.
When crews arrived they saw a portion of the tractor-trailer fully involved in fire and began fire suppression. The fire department mentions the tractor was not involved and was disconnected from the trailer when they arrived.
According to the fire department the driver was uninjured and there were no other injuries reported.
Additional water was needed as well as foam due to the heavy fire load, the fire department said. South Kensington was requested for a tanker to assist at the scene.

The truck was carrying bulk stock, and no chemicals are believed to be involved.
Mutual aid for town coverage has been provided by Cheshire and Plainville Fire Departments who handled additional incidents, according to the fire department.
As of 6 a.m. the right and center lanes are closed.
