
Three people were injured, and one of them is in critical condition after a two-car accident in Waterbury on Monday afternoon, police said.
Officers were called to the area of Long Hill Road and Wolcott Street for a serious accident involving a minivan and a sedan at 4:06 p.m. Monday, according to police.
A 71-year-old passenger in the sedan was seriously injured and is in critical condition. He is from Southbury. The 37-year-old driver of the sedan from Thomaston was also seriously injured, but is in stable condition, police said.
The driver of the minivan, whose age was not shared, received minor injuries and was transported to a local hospital, according to police.
The accident is still under investigation by the Waterbury Police Department’s Crash Reconstruction Unit.
