Students in Waterbury are heading back to the classroom Tuesday
Across the state, thousands of students are waking up bright and early to head back to the classroom on Tuesday.
In Waterbury, hundreds of students are getting ready for their first day of school. Some of last year’s changes will be implemented this year again.
Yondr pouches
Students will be expected to lock their phones away in Yonder pouches until the end of the day.
The school district says they noticed an improvement in grades, communication and one-on-one interactions.
School-based health centers
Crosby High School is one of five schools with a school-based health center.
It’s a great resource for families to seek medical, dental and behavioral care for their students without having to miss a day of school.
School-based health clinics can also be found at Wallace Middle School, North End Middle School and Wilby High School.
The school-based health centers are open to all Waterbury residents.
