State Police Fire and Explosion Unit investigate fire at home in New London

The Connecticut State Police Fire and Explosion Unit is investigating after a fire at a home in New London on Tuesday morning.

State police said they are assisting the New London Fire Marshal with the scene.

While additional details have not been released, a portion of the house on Chapel Drive appears damaged with several windows broken and some of the siding charred.

At least one fire truck was seen at the scene on Tuesday morning and police tape is blocking off the area.

Fire officials are expected to give an update on the fire at 9:30 a.m.
