A “serious medical emergency” involving a student was reported at High Meadow event venue in Granby, according to school officials.
Wethersfield Public Schools Superintendent Jeffrey Wihbey issued a message to the community saying that their students, while also at High Meadow, witnessed a student experiencing a “medical emergency” and becoming “unresponsive.” According to Wihbey, students from Silas Deane Middle School saw the incident.
At this time, it’s unknown which school district the student was from and what medical emergency occurred.
NBC Connecticut has reached out to the Granby Police Department for additional information.
Wihbey said that while the students were not directly involved, some witnessed it, and that the crisis support team has been activated to help any student or family who may need it.
