10-year-old child accidentally shot in Farmington

Route 4 closed in Norwalk after a motorcycle accident

Route 4 near river road is currently closed as police continue to investigate a motorcycle accident that occurred on Sunday afternoon.

At around 4 p.m. the Farmington Police Department responded to a report for a motorcycle vs. motor vehicle accident.

According to police, the motorcycle hit a slowing/stopped vehicle from behind.

The two occupants in the vehicle were transported to the hospital with minor injuries.

The motorcycle driver was found conscious and alert, but was not wearing a helmet and sustained serious head injuries. The driver was transported via Life Star to the hospital with serious injuries.

The motorcycle driver has been identified as a 67-year-old male from New Britain.

The North Central Municipal Accident Reconstruction Squad is continuing to investigate the crash. Route 4 will remain closed for several hours as a part of the investigation.
