
Police are expected to provide an update on Wednesday morning about the investigation into a shooting outside a bar in West Haven that left two men dead and another person injured.
West Haven Police Chief Joseph S. Perno and Mayor Dorinda Borer are scheduled to hold a press conference at 11:30 a.m. at West Haven Police Headquarters. They said they would discuss the status of the investigation and announce immediate measures to enhance public safety.
The shooting happened around 1:30 a.m. on Saturday outside of a bar in the 600 block of Campbell Avenue, police said.
Once police were in the area, they said they found three people who had been shot. According to police, one person was shot in the arm and leg and was conscious, alert and responsive when police arrived.
Authorities said two additional people were found across the street and appeared to be unresponsive. Investigators said both people had apparent gunshot wounds and were transported to the hospital. Both of them were later pronounced dead.
The men were later identified as 31-year-old Miguel Daniel Blake of New Haven and 34-year-old Dravere Christopher Blake of Meriden.
