Police investigating death of inmate at Corrigan Correctional Center
State police and the Department of Correction are investigating the death of an inmate at the Corrigan Correctional Center in Uncasville on Thursday.
Staff were doing a routine tour of the facility around 1 p.m. and found 60-year-old Thomas Harrison unresponsive in his cell, according to the DOC.
The staff members began CPR until an ambulance crew arrived. Harrison was taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Harrison entered the Department of Correction system on June 1.
State police and the Office of the Inspector General will handle the investigation and Harrison’s exact cause of death will be determined by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.
