Police say they are investigating a drive-by shooting that nearly struck a teenager inside a condominium in Plainfield on Wednesday night.
The Plainfield Police Department said it received multiple reports of shots being fired from a vehicle in the area of Sachem Drive around 9:20 p.m.
Officers responded to a multi-occupant condominium and confirmed that a drive-by shooting had occurred. The department’s Special Investigations Unit later determined that several rounds had been fired, according to police.
One of the “projectiles” entered a bedroom and narrowly missed a 13-year-old, police said. No injuries were reported.
The incident remains under investigation.
