The 2026 Lunar New Year falls on Tuesday, February 17th, starting a year of the Fire Horse. and celebrations culminate with the Lantern Festival on March 3rd. Here are a few spots to celebrate here in CT.

RESTAURANTS

MECHA, Multiple Locations

Mecha will be decked out with decor for Lunar New Year, and running menu specials including their cult favorite — spicy chicken tan tan, Yuzu-Lime Panna Cotta & a Liquid Gold Daiquiri. They will also be giving away 100 $11 gift cards to the first 100 guests at any of our locations the day of LNY. 

MŌLÌ Restaurant, Greenwich

MOLI will be hosting a Chinese New Year Brunch on February 14 @ 12:00 pm. Tickets are $25. This event is an opportunity to come together, share traditions, and welcome the year with joy, good fortune, and prosperity. Join them for a festive afternoon featuring: Dim Sum Brunch Exclusive Lunar New Year Specials Traditional Performances Lion Dance Celebration

Ginkgo, Fairfield

Tuesday, Feb 17 at Ginkgo Sichuan Cuisine will have a lion dance + kung fu performance, lots of good food, lots of noise, lots of fun during dinner dining hours.

Grano Arso, Chester

Grano Arso will be featuring a Lani Viet pop up on Tuesday February 3rd with a 4 course prix fixe including Vietnamese inspired cocktails for $125/pp.

Lazy Sister, Norwalk

The Year of the Horse calls for lucky tiles, dim sum & a full table of friends. They’re ringing in the Lunar New Year on Tuesday, February 24th at @lazysisterchinese, with Gold Coast Mahjong Club open play mahjong tables, specials, + a drink included.

Blue & Berries X Matcha Amor, Fairfield

Come celebrate Lunar New Year at Blue & Berries on February 21st.
They’ll be serving fresh, hand-whisked matcha drinks—perfect to pair with delicious Korean food

Mama Pho Vietnamese Restaurant, Winsted

Mama Pho in Winsted is hosting a ticketed “Lion Dance show for Lunar New Year 2026” on February 22nd, 2026, at 12:00 pm with a Vietnamese Buffet. The $25 ticket includes food, drinks, the show, and a raffle entry.. You can stop by 242 Main St, Winsted CT 06098 any day except Monday from 12-8pm to purchase tickets.

Dev’s, Niantic

Dev’s On Main will host a special, multi-course Chinese New Year dinner with plum wine, red envelopes, and gifts on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, at 6:00-8:30 pm. $65++ per person BY RESERVATION ONLY 860-451-8141.

Lao Sze Chuan , Milford

They run specific Chef’s Specials for the New Year, focusing on “Ma La” (numbing and spicy) flavors—perfect for the “Fire” element of the 2026 Fire Horse.

  • Mohegan Sun: The Year of the Horse Celebration is Sunday, February 22, 2026 in Uncasville, CT (Shops Concourse, Sun Patio, Arena). Guests can celebrate the Year of the Horse with vibrant performances, cultural craftsmanship, and moments designed to inspire good fortune. Starting at Noon on The Shops Concourse, guests can discover the Fortune God, red envelopes, and appearances by the 2025 Miss Chinese Beauty Pageant winners. Throughout this celebration, guests can explore authentic craftsmanship from cultural artisans and immerse themselves in the rich heritage of the season. At 2:00pm, Mohegan Sun executives will give celebratory remarks on the Sun Patio before the iconic Lion Dance – a centuries-old symbol of renewal and prosperity. The performance begins on the Sun Patio, moves through The Shops Concourse, and concludes at the Sky Entrance of Mohegan Sun Arena. 

  • The Shops at Yale Lunar New Year Celebration. Join Yale-China Association on Saturday, February 21 at 10am on Whitney Avenue to ring in the New Year with their lion dance parade. After the parade, attend workshops, performances, and more inside Downtown New Haven venues.

  • Lunar New Year Celebration in Hartford/Manchester: The Connecticut Museum of Culture and History and the Asian and Pacific American Coalition are hosting a free, family-friendly event at the Arts, Sciences, and Technology Center (CT State Community College Manchester) on Saturday, February 28, 2026, from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. Enjoy food, crafts, and live performances; timed tickets are required and available starting February 1, 2026.

  • Tết-Lunar New Year Festival & Marketplace in Wethersfield: Celebrate Tết Nguyên Đán, the Vietnamese New Year, at the William Pitkin Community Center on Sunday, February 1, 2026, at 12:00 pm. This marketplace and festival will feature traditional customs, food, and activities.

  • Foxwoods Resort Casino | Mashantucket. On Friday, February 21, Foxwoods invites the public to a full-day Lunar New Year celebration from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., transforming the Rainmaker Expo Center into a vibrant showcase of culture, performance, and tradition.

    The celebration kicks off with a highly visual Lion Dance Parade at 11:00 a.m. At 1:00 p.m., the Rainmaker Expo Center transforms into a Lunar New Year hub featuring live performances and interactive cultural experiences through 5:00 p.m. Guests can enjoy an energetic line up featuring a DJ blending traditional Chinese music with modern hits, Peking Opera, a face-changing performance, multiple Lion Dance performances, a magic show, and a Kung Fu demonstration.

    Throughout the afternoon, guests can also explore hands-on cultural stations designed for all ages. Stations include live calligraphy demonstrations with personalized keepsakes, arts and crafts, a zodiac-themed photo booth, a wishing wall, and appearances by the God of Wealth, a beloved symbol of abundance and good fortune.

    Free and open to the public, the celebration underscores Foxwoods’ position as a leading destination for large-scale cultural events, offering an unforgettable Lunar New Year experience, right in the heart of the Northeast.

  • Danbury Library will host a Spring Roll Cooking Class Tuesday, February 17, 2026 | 3:00 PM, for teens. This is a great way to get the next generation involved in the culinary traditions of the holiday.
