Passenger found shot inside crashed car: New Britain police
A man is recovering after he was shot while inside a car in New Britain, police said.
Officers were called to the area of Arch Street and West Pearl Street just before 3 p.m. on the report of a crash and possible gunfire.
When first responders got to the scene, they found a man on the passenger side of the vehicle suffering from a sunshot wound. He was alert and taken to the hospital for treatment, police said.
EMS also reported that two people fled from the car before police arrived. Responding officers found those individuals nearby, according to officials.
Police said based on an initial investigation, the incident is isolated, and there is no threat to the public.
