An Oxford man whom police were searching for on Thursday was found dead, the Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) said.
The Environmental Conservation Police (EnCon) police said they began their search alongside state police for 50-year-old Justin Kruger just after 10 p.m. on Wednesday. DEEP announced they found the man on Friday morning.
“DEEP extends our condolences to his family and loved ones,” DEEP wrote.
During the search for Kruger, his vehicle was found in the Naugatuck State Forest near the Oxford Reservoir, according to EnCon police.
The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner has not yet determined a cause and manner of Kruger’s death.
There is no criminal aspect to the investigation, DEEP said.
