Many roads are closed, and many people are without power on Tuesday because of Monday night’s high winds, which reached 60 miles an hour in some parts of Connecticut.
The closures are causing traffic backup and headaches during the morning commute.
More than 26,000 people are still without power across the state as of 10:15 a.m., according to Eversource. Early on Tuesday, more than 30,000 people were experiencing power outages.
The following roads were closed due to fallen trees and debris on the roadways, according to the Connecticut Department of Transportation. Many are still closed:
The center lane of Route 9 South was closed between Exits 38 and 37A in New Britain because of debris in the road. It was reported at 9:07 a.m., and the road has since reopened.
A tree is down with fallen wires on Route 7, causing it to be closed in both directions between Routes 112 and 128 in Sharon. The closure was reported at 8:42 a.m.
Route 126 is closed in both directions at Page Road in Canaan for a tree that fell with wires, reported at 8:08 a.m.
A tree down with wires was reported at 7:26, and Route 81 in Killingworth is closed at Pond Meadow Road because of it.
Route 201 in Griswold is closed at Coal Pit Hill Road due to a tree down with wires, reported at 7:06 a.m.
Fallen wires closed Route 169 in both directions between Oak Drive and Phillips Road in Lisbon at 7:03 a.m.
Route 82 is closed between Route 156 and Route 148 in East Haddam because of a tree down with wires at 6:37 a.m.
At 6:33 a.m., a tree down with wires that closed Route 126 at Boinay Hill Road in North Canaan was reported.

A fallen tree and wires closed a part of Phoenixville Road in Chaplin, which was reported at 6:16 a.m.
Bridge Street in Suffield is closed in both directions between Route 75 and Thrall Avenue due to a downed tree and wires. This closure was reported at 6:11 a.m.
A down tree and wires reported at 5:55 a.m. closed Route 302 in both directions in the area of Taylor Road in Bethel.
Route 97 is closed in both directions at Babbit Hill Road in Pomfret due to a tree down and wires. This closure was reported at 5:29 a.m.
Route 14A is closed in both directions between Route 14 and Gibson Hill Road in Sterling because of a tree down with wires at 5:21 a.m.
A tree down with wires closed Route 289 in Lebanon in both directions between Burnham Road & Bender Road reported at 5:07 a.m.
Route 193 is closed in both directions in Thompson because of a down tree with wires. This was reported at 4:48 a.m.
A fallen tree closed Route 14 in both directions in Canterbury at Barstow Road at 4:40 a.m.
Another fallen tree closed Route 244 in both directions at 174 Boston Turnpike in Eastford at 4:30 a.m.
Route 74 is closed in both directions at Krapf Road in Ashford because of a fallen tree at 4:08 a.m.

Two more fallen trees closed roads just before 4 a.m.: One closed Route 4 in Sharon in both directions at Herrick Road at 3:59 a.m., and another closed Route 17 in both directions at Bartlett Road in Portland at 3:48 a.m.
Some roads and highway lanes are also closed because of crashes:
A crash on MLK Boulevard East in New Haven closed the right lane near the Exit to I-91 North ramp. This was reported at 9:39 a.m.
A two-vehicle crash closed the left lane on I-95 South between Exits 31 and 30 in Stratford at 9:06 a.m.
Another two-vehicle crash closed the left lane of I-91 North in Rocky Hill at 8:32 a.m.
I-84 East was closed between Exits 46 and 48 in the left lane because of a car crash at 8:08 a.m.
