Osborn Correctional Institution in lockdown as crews work on water main break

The Osborn Correctional Institution in Somers is on lockdown as crews work to repair a water main break, officials said.

Department of Correction (DOC) officials said the break happened Friday morning and that maintenance staff is “actively working to make the necessary repairs to restore the water service as soon as possible.”

Officials said the prison was put on lockdown status while the repairs are completed.

DOC said they are providing bottled water to inmates while portable toilets and sinks were delivered.
