West Hartford police said one person was taken to the hospital after a crash involving a moped and a vehicle on Thursday night.

The crash happened just before 9:30 p.m. at the intersection of Flatbush Avenue and New Park Avenue.

Police said all involved in the crash stayed at the scene and are cooperating with the investigation. Medical aid was provided at the scene to the moped operator, and they were taken to an area hospital. The severity of their injuries isn’t known at this time, police said.

The West Hartford Accident Reconstruction Team was called to investigate the crash.

Police said the intersection is expected to be closed to traffic for a few hours, and all travelers are asked to use alternate routes.
