One person dead and four injured in early morning Hartford shooting
One person is dead and four others are injured after an early morning shooting on Wethersfield Avenue in Hartford on Sunday.
Hartford Police Lieutenant Aaron Boisvert says officers found a large crowd on-scene and an unresponsive gunshot victim who was later pronounced dead by EMS. Their identity has not yet been released.
“While on scene, an area hospital reported two gunshot victims, a male in his thirties and a male in his twenties, arriving via private vehicles for treatment,” he said.
Boisvert says a second hospital reported two more gunshot victims in critical, but stable conditions.
He says the heavy traffic and large crowds make incidents like these more common in the area.
“It’s a constant battle,” he said. “The area police officers are battling it every weekend, they’re here til’ 3 o’clock in the morning, 4 o’clock in the morning, trying to solve these problems.”
