One dead after double tractor-trailer accident on I-84 in Vernon
One person is dead after a double tractor-trailer accident in Vernon on I-84 eastbound.
State police said one tractor trailer was parked on the shoulder when it was struck by a second tractor trailer, resulting in the second vehicle becoming engulfed in flames.
According to CTDOT the crash happened between exits 66 and 67 just before 11:30 p.m.
The highway is expected to remain closed for an extended period for cleanup and ongoing investigation, state police said.
