New London Police investigate a non-fatal shooting
The New London Police Department is investigating a shooting that occurred on Saturday afternoon.
At approximately 4:23 p.m., police received a call for a female that had been shot at a residence in the area of Wall and Summer Street.
Police responded and found an adult female suffering from a gunshot wound in her lower extremity.
Officers quickly applied a tourniquet to stabilize the victim’s injury. The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
Police secured the area, collected evidence, processed the scene and canvassed the surrounding area.
The incident does not appear to be a random act, according to New London Police.
