Motorcyclist dead after crash in Newtown
One person is dead after a crash on Hawleyville Road in the area of North Ridge Drive.
Police received a report of an accident involving a motorcycle and a box truck both traveling on Hawleyville Road on Monday around 5:49 p.m.
According to police, the operator of the motorcycle died on the scene.
The Newtown Police Department, Hawleyville Fire Department and Newtown Volunteer Ambulance Corps responded to the scene.
Hawleyville Road was closed for several hours and has reopened.
The case will remain under investigation by the detective bureau and accident reconstruction team.
