A 63-year-old man is in serious condition after he was hit by a vehicle in Hartford, fire officials said.

The Hartford Fire Department was called to the crash on Windsor Street just after 3:15 p.m. Tuesday.

When fire personnel arrived, they found the man pinned beneath a pick-up truck.

Firefighters were able to rescue the man and treat him on the scene before taking him to a local hospital with serious injuries, officials said.

The truck also struck a light pole, according to officials, and Eversource was requested to help assess the damage and secure any hazards related to the pole and wires.

The Hartford Police Department is investigating the crash.
