A man is under arrest and charged with murder in the stabbing death of an 80-year-old woman in Waterbury.
Officers responded to an apartment on Abbott Terrace around 12:45 p.m. on Thursday for what was originally reported as a medical assist.
When they arrived, they found 48-year-old Noel Sepulveda on the floor. He appeared to be under the influence of drugs, according to police.
Officers also found 80-year-old Anacelia Sepulveda in her bed and suffering from multiple stab wounds, police said. She was later pronounced dead.
Police did not immediately say what the relationship between the two is.
Noel Sepulveda was taken to the hospital and then later taken into custody.
He is charged with murder, possession of narcotics, and use of drug paraphernalia. He was held on $2.5 million bond and appeared in court Friday morning.
