A man is in custody after he went into Aetna headquarters with a firearm, Hartford police said.

Officers were called to the building at 151 Farmington Avenue just after 10 a.m. on the report of a suspicious man. When officers arrived at the scene, they were met by Aetna security, who had the man detained.

According to officials, the man had entered the building carrying a backpack, and inside the bag was an AR-style pistol. Police said building security detained the man within three minutes of him being inside the building.

Police have not identified the man at this time, nor said whether he has been charged.

Hartford Police Major Crimes, Crime Scene, and Intelligence divisions responded and are investigating the incident.
